Stamping & Punching

Min-Aluminum offers metal stamping, CNC turret punching for a variety of sheet metal products and applications. We can manufacture products in a variety of materials and thicknesses according to your specific design requirements and in accordance with specified tolerances and drawings.

Metal Stamping

Metal Stamping is a very common method of metal forming which is both very cost effective and efficient. This method of manufacture has the ability to produce holes or shapes in both strip and sheet metals during medium or high production runs.

This method of manufacture requires a stamping press and die specifically designed for the product to be formed. The process involves a high force created by the steel punch holding the die to be forced into the work piece with immense pressure and thus either cutting the “scrap” out of the material or forming the material according to the design of the die.

Stamping can be either single stage or a carried out in a series of stages for more complex products. Single stage products are generally very simple and quick to produce while staged products can be more complex due to the multiple operations that occur to form the desired product.

When creating a die there is a lot to take into account such as the most efficient design, tool steel type, steel hardness required etc. Min-Aluminum can create all dies required to manufacture your specific product or component and we will manage these die’s throughout its life.

CNC Turret Punch

Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) punching is a manufacturing process that is controlled automatically by a CNC punch press. This process is used to punch sheet metals which generally range from between 0.5mm to approx. 6.0mm.

The advantage of using a CNC punch press is that this machinery has the ability to create more complex designs than regular punching/stamping. This advanced machinery has the ability to identify the most economical use of material in a given sheet ensuring products are manufactured in the most economical was possible.

Min-Aluminum can work in a variety of materials with the most common being steel, galvanised sheet, stainless, and aluminum sheet.
